ROLE PURPOSE

The Program Coordinator is accountable for the effective and efficient management of the EU ENGAGE project to ensure technical quality in program implementation. S/he is responsible for the technical oversight in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project. The post holder will provide overall leadership in developing strategies to strengthen constituency building among children, families and community stakeholders to engage policy decision makers. This includes working on resource packages and/or modules related to the objectives of the project ENGAGE.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential
* Experience in designing resource packages or modules and/or implementing projects related to Child Rights Governance (CRG) and/or Child Protection (CP). Strong understanding of rights-based approaches, e.g. child rights programming, gender equality, disability and social inclusion
* Experience in engaging duty bearers and facilitating child participation, use of child rights approaches, gender development and inclusion principles in development or humanitarian settings.
* Knowledge and demonstrable experience of implementing participatory approaches in development / humanitarian work;
* Proven experience in strategic and tactical planning. Critical thinking which is demonstrated by the ability to resolve program issues and integrate programs
* Strong sense of urgency and work ethics particularly in timeliness (organizing and prioritizing) and quality in programming.
* Effective communication and facilitation skills demonstrated by skills and knowledge in using various tools in simplifying concepts and frameworks in communicating with a wide range of audiences related to the program including children.
* Resilience to stress, agility to abrupt changes and can multitask.
* Understands and believes in Save the Children’s mission and vision; commits to its objectives and willing to adopt Save the Children’s methodology and framework.
* College degree in social development is preferred
* Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
* Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
