Badael’s Mission

Badael is a rights-based organization founded in 2013 with a mission to foster transformative justice as the basis of a genuine and sustainable peace in Syria. Championing locally owned alternatives, we endeavor to buttress the scope and impact of inclusive grassroots civic action and foment the development of holistic truth and understanding within and around the Syrian context. Our approach combines direct assistance and capacity building efforts with bottom-up narrative-shaping initiatives, including research, oral history and advocacy, so that all Syrians are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to construct a pluralistic and rights-based society of tomorrow.

Program Coordinator

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and projects within Badael. They will work closely with various parties to ensure effective program delivery, monitor progress, and provide support to the program team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the organization’s mission, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with diverse groups of people.

Starting Date: 19.07.2023

Contract: Full-time Job

Contract duration: one year with a possibility of extension.

Location: Remotely

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Planning and Development:
   • Participate in strategic planning processes to determine program objectives and priorities.
   • Develop program plans, including timelines, budgets, and key performance indicators.
   • Conduct research and analysis to inform program design and identify best practices.
2. Program Implementation and Management:
   • Coordinate and monitor program activities to ensure timely and successful execution.
   • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to allocate resources and ensure smooth program implementation.
   • Provide guidance and support to program staff, ensuring they have the necessary tools and information to carry out their roles effectively.
   • Regularly review program progress against established goals, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
   • Collaborate with the MEAL team in develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness.
   • Participation in collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
   • Prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
4. Partnership Engagement:
   • Build and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, including partner organizations, and community members.
   • Collaborate with different parties to identify opportunities for collaboration and leverage additional resources.
   • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and events related to the program.

Qualification :

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences, international development).
• Proven experience (5 years) in program coordination or management within the non-profit sector.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse parties.
• Knowledge of the Syrian contexts and familiarity with relevant international development frameworks.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
