ABOUT US: Toplum için Yenilik ve Yardım Derneği was founded in 2017 with a mission to support refugees build their new lives in Turkey and become positive contributors to society.

Through our innovative approach to aid and programming, we help all members of the family with support tailored to the needs of each generation. We provide financial stipends on the condition that parents send their children back to school. We also provide awareness on life skills, a space for youth to create and innovate, one-on-one coaching, scholarships for college students, and much more. Our goal is to highlight the collective shared culture and values between refugees, migrants, and the Turkish community and to encourage, support, and develop a generation that gives back to society.

JOB BRIEF: The Program Associate – Higher Education is a caring, self-motivated professional who believes in assisting Syrian refugees towards achieving higher education. S/he will assist in communicating and reporting with our scholarship recipients and their progress. Our goal is to effectively assist students into higher education, in a rapidly growing and developing program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Programmatic

  • Build and maintain an open communication channel with scholarship recipients
  • Conduct evaluation and check-in interviews with scholarship recipients
  • Monitor & verify scholarship recipients academic performance, attendance, and volunteerism
  • Provide assistance to students in applying for universities and scholarships
  • Prepare regular programmatic reports
  • Support in scholarship evaluation process and enrollment / onboarding of new scholarship recipients
  • Maintain our social media accounts (Facebook and LinkedIn) to create a sense of community between our scholarship recipients and share relevant resources
  • Follow up with all student inquiries and respond in a timely manner
  • Continuous communication with Universities
  • Continuously keep the student data up to date
  • Maintain students’ documents and ensure documentation is complete and well-archived.

Content Development

  • Conducting interviews, draft story updates, and gather pictures, videos, and success stories in collaboration with the communication department

Other

  • Other tasks as may be assigned by the Scholars Program Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Advanced proficiency in Turkish and English
  • Competence in Google Drive (documents, spreadsheets)
  • Documentation & analysis skills

LOCATION: Karam House,Istanbul

HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Saturday through Wednesday

LOCATION: Istanbul with possible visits to the Reyhanli Office.
