Job Overview: The Program Administrator provides a broad variety of operational support including procuring equipment for staff, troubleshooting IT issues, completing forms, and assisting with HR administrative tasks. The position reports to the Project Director, Afghan Support & Investment Project.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing support to the Project Director, including managing the Projects Director’s calendar, scheduling and coordinating meetings with staff and external partners, preparing and submitting expense reports.
  • Assist with HR administrative tasks including procuring equipment for new staff, tracking time-off for staff, completing status change forms and other assigned paperwork
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and policies
  • Coordinate general orientation for new staff
  • Lead logistics for group meetings, trainings, and events
  • Assist with staff expense management reports and reimbursement
  • Assist with ensuring that staff have the resources they need to perform their jobs
  • Support local basic IT questions
  • Assist Accounts Payable Specialist and Finance Manager in ASIP fund disbursement
  • Assist with other related activities as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education: Undergraduate degree required. Preferably with an emphasis in communication, IT, human resources, international development or and relevant field of study

Work Experience: 2+ years relevant work experience in office administration; human resources, facilities management, procurement or related field

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in language(s) spoken by IRC’s clients is desired; including, Dari, and/or Pashto.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research and problem-solving purposes.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software such as Microsoft Dynamics a plus.

Working Environment:

  • Partial remote, partial in-office work.
  • May require occasional work out of partner agencies’ offices.
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
