Everly Health’s legal department is seeking a high-integrity, deadline-oriented, intellectually curious, team player to support the company’s product and business initiatives. This position will be responsible for advising and counseling internal clients on a broad range of legal, regulatory and compliance issues (e.g., HIPAA, FDA, CLIA, HITECH, TCPA, FCA, AKS, Stark) impacting Everly’s expanding service and product portfolio, as well supporting necessary deliverables (e.g., monitoring and updating policies and procedures, interacting with commercial partners and regulatory bodies).
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully advising clients on legal and regulatory matters relating to product launches and business development initiatives. They will also have the ability to quickly, succinctly and accurately analyze privacy and regulatory issues, possess excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and be able to strategically advise internal stakeholders on a broad spectrum of company initiatives. Team player is a must, with the ability to work independently with little supervision, as needed.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the subject matter expert on regulatory issues impacting Everly Health and its service offerings.
- Research, analyze, advise, train and provide legal direction to internal stakeholders on legal, regulatory and compliance issues, including privacy, anti-kickback, and healthcare fraud and abuse laws, in connection with the development, marketing and commercialization of Everly Health’s products and features.
- Develop and document company policies and procedures, including legal and compliance processes, procedures and training.
- Advise on and drive the implementation of Everly Health’s regulatory and compliance initiatives and efforts, including documentation and other organization requirements.
- Analyze, provide advice and drive regulatory risk management initiatives and assisting all operational areas in the identification and assessment of potential risks and executing mitigating activities.
- Coordinate and provide compliance responses to customer, partner and regulatory inquiries.
- Identify, anticipate, provide timely evaluation of and communicate risks and issues with senior attorneys and internal stakeholders.
- Handle and manage legal inquiries from governmental and regulatory authorities.
- Participate in special projects and additional duties, as required.
Who You Are:
- JD with Bar admission
- 4+ years of experience at a law firm or in-house in a sophisticated commercial environment.
- Intellectual athlete with ability to quickly, succinctly and accurately analyze and synthesize complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Significant knowledge of applicable laws/regulations two or more regulatory frameworks applicable to health care or health IT (e.g., HIPAA, FDA, FCA, CPOM, CLIA, HITECH, TCPA and other privacy laws and regulations, and anti-kickback and other healthcare fraud and abuse laws) combined with the strong desire and ability to expand expertise to additional frameworks.
- Proven ability to identify and analyze legal risks and issues and counsel internal clients regarding laws and regulations impacting the business.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive with deadlines with ability to prioritize conflicting demands and manage several ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze and resolve challenging legal issues and ability to communicate sound, clear, practical and concise advice in a business setting.
- Solution oriented team player with outstanding professionalism, poise and ability to reliability multi-task in a fast-paced environment, with a positive attitude with respect to any assigned projects.
- Ability to interface with internal clients across various departments and seamless assimilation into and cooperating with colleagues in the Legal team.
- Solid ability to balance risks and opportunities, including thinking creatively to enable the business to accomplish its goals.
