Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for a Procurement Manager – Mooring Solutions
We are looking for a Procurement Manager to be the main interface between the mooring segment and its suppliers. You will be responsible for ensuring the business segment understands and is compliant with the corporate governance, all applicable policies and procedures as well as the specific procurement governance standards. Minimizing the risk exposure for the business segment by diversifying the supplier base with new suppliers. Diligently developing, obtaining approval, and implementation of strategic procurement plans for the business segment that is in compliance with strategies and processes set by Global Procurement. Continuously take the “West to East” trend into account. Whilst optimizing procurement spend and ensuring that savings are delivered economically, effectively, and efficiently. Driving and ensuring planning of procurement activities in the business segment in collaboration with relevant stakeholders inside and outside the business segment to achieve set targets.
Who you will work with:
The Procurement Manager will report to the Product Management and Planning Director for Mooring Solutions. However, for projects and other activities led by Global Procurement, and for questions related to the Procurement Governance Standard and compliance, the Procurement Manager will report to the Global Procurement Director. In addition, the Procurement Manager has a highly collaborative role and is expected to work closely with all relevant stakeholders.
What you will work on:
- Ensuring appropriate standard contracts are established, maintained, and implemented for the business segment’s suppliers and that all current and potential new suppliers sign the Supplier Code of Conduct
- Negotiating agreements with strategically important suppliers
- Driving and exploring increased level of dual sourcing
- Ensuring continuous monitoring, managing and improvement of supplier performance, including supplier audits and business reviews in the business segment
- Identifying strategic suppliers and evaluating, strengthening, and continuing the development of strategic partnerships with a focus on product development and innovation
- Improving utilization of supplier footprint, to reduce freight costs and lead times
- Ensuring compliance with ESG requirements
- Actively pursuing an ESG focus focusing on reducing the total carbon footprint and ensuring that the products we procure are sustainable and have low impact on the environment
- Coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the choice of the right suppliers and product quality
What you need to succeed in the role:
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Experience in developing and managing international procurements
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with domestic and international stakeholders as well as counterparties
- International experience and knowledge of the maritime industry is advantageous
- Interest and curiosity about mooring products and technology
- Vision and strategic competence with strong analytical skills
- Fluent English
