MPD (materials, process development and delivery) is a functional discipline within Research & Development. We have an exciting role as a Packaging Scientist in our Oral Care Europe Materials, Process Development and Delivery organization within the UK . In this role you will:
Work alongside members of the European formulation, process and packaging development teams and with our manufacturing sites.
Provide technical support for existing P&G products and manufacturing as well as being involved in changes/new product launches and product and manufacturing transfers between sites.
Develop in-depth understanding of R&D data systems for managing our products, as well as deep knowledge on the materials and manufacturing processes involved in Oral Care products made at our manufacturing sites.
Be trained on and acquire working knowledge of the quality and regulatory requirements that our products need to meet.
Your normal place of work will be the Reading Innovation Centre, UK.
Key responsibilities include:
Working in multifunctional teams to support product development and improvements.
Designing, creating and maintaining product specifications in our data systems.
Designing and executing technical studies at laboratory, pilot plant and commercial scale.
Raising internal and external change controls to reflect proposed materials, and manufacturing process changes at manufacturing sites, following appropriate review and work-flow with business, technical and compliance functions.
Traveling to Manufacturing sites across Europe will be required.
Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Education: Applied Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bio chemistry, Material Science/ Engineering. (Preferred Master, BSc/BEng accepted)
Professional experience: Previous experience in a FMCG or formulated chemistry consumer products industry an advantage but not essential.
Languages: Proficiency in English.
Other aptitudes required:
Technical curiosity and adaptability.
Collaboration skills, working across multiple functions and geographies.
Aptitude with data systems.
Geography: Ability to work permanently in UK.
