Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Project Controls Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to develop, establish, and maintain all aspects of the cost control effort and/or the planning/scheduling effort on one or more of the larger, more complex and demanding projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop, implement, and maintain project cost/schedule control system.
- Strong leadership quality, effective coordination & follow-up with Design/ Project Manager to get information to implement Project Control Systems.
- Develop & maintain Resource and EVA/EVM dashboards providing forecast visibility of resources across Sector as well as performance indicators of ongoing projects.
- Presentation to project management on above dashboards, highlighting key performances and action needed to further improvements.
- Customize project control systems to meet specific project requirements. Accumulate historical data, such as performance experience, for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting.
- Develop Design Master programs for large and complex development identifying interferences among various packages/ stakeholders.
- Provide planning/scheduling function on Design projects portfolio fully loaded with cost & resources with solid experience, technical expertise, and in line with company policies and procedures to complete complicated tasks independently.
- Understand and apply engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships to develop and maintain critical path logic networks and bar charts utilizing this information in coordination with Design/ project managers.
- Detailed knowledge of various stages and procedures / sequence of Design project including mix-land development from Master planning to Contract award.
- Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems.
- Analyze, evaluate, and forecast current status against an established baseline schedule using appropriate measurement model and in coordination with Design/ Project Managers and/or respective discipline leads.
- Assess the impact(s) of design or construction changes/ variation and schedule slippages using “what if” scenario – advising steps to mitigate, and assisting issuing appropriate notices to justify EoT.
- Report status of schedule to appropriate project and Company management as well to the client.
- Coordination with Client/ PMC for weekly/ by-weekly progress updates.
- Knowledge of cost forecasting model and other cost control functions.
- Supervise and provide performance reviews for one or more lower-level Project Control Engineer/ Specialists and/ or support personnel.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management from a recognized university/ institution.
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in project control function (planning, scheduling and cost control) of relevant infrastructure design projects.
- Ability to develop various management dashboards across Sector level including Resource and EVA/EVM.
- Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6), Power BI and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
