Job Purpose

To manage a defined portfolio of Principals in the Food & Nutrition market segment (and related business units where applicable), with focus on flavours and functional ingredients.

Ensure satisfaction of the principal in order to maintain the principal and grow the relationship, organically and through new mandates.

PDM-role within EMEA region developing the local teams on the relevant Principal portfolios and developing the business. Coordination with other regions as required.

On-boarding Of Principal

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for a smooth implementation of the principal in new countries, product lines or market segments
  • Develop, validate and lead the Principal’s Market Implementation plan through Azelis’ regional business teams – ensure buy in locally
  • Prepare on-boarding package (list of products, specifications, pricing, input in AX)

Target And Objective Setting

  • Define together with local teams the budget for Principal
  • Discuss and agree on targets and objectives with Principal
  • Translate and communicate objectives to local teams and align

Delivery Of Results

  • Seek solutions to continuously promote and upgrade Azelis’ value proposition and service to Principal
  • Support local teams by joint visits to customers
  • Coordinate sharing and synergies between countries
  • Manage critical issues
  • Negotiate prices
  • Organize local meetings with supplier and local team to discuss performance
  • Foster, ensure and coordinate business communication / knowledge transfer between Azelis market segments and Principal(s) business units
  • Responsible for stock > 3 months

Reporting

  • Track performance (internal and external) and analyse results on a continuous basis
  • Signal issues and define improvement actions together with local teams and offer support
  • Report performance to principal
  • Report performance with principal internally, via the agreed channels & tools

Central Point Of Contact

  • Serve as central point of contact for the principal
  • Develop and manage a multilevel relationship network between Azelis and Principal(s) that includes business executives
  • Co-Chair (together with Principal) Azelis/Principal business review to discuss performance and corrective actions

Key Metrics

  • Realization of objectives and targets (growth, volumes, number of customers, etc.)
  • Number of new products and/or country mandates
  • Principal satisfaction
  • Marketing actions and local teams supported to push principal’s portfolio

Reporting line and organisational level

  • Senior Principal Development Manager

Internal and external stakeholders of the role

  • Internal: Product Managers, Sales Managers, Business & Commercial Manager, Back office team, Principal Development Managers, Market Segment Directors
  • External: Relevant Principals

Experience, Education & Personality

  • Master level thinking or by relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the Food & Nutrition industry especially flavours and functional ingredients – knowledge of distribution
  • Well-organized/structured & stress-resistant.
  • Pragmatic, problem-solver with a hands-on mindset.
  • Strong communication skills (needs to bring people together)
  • Business-minded/comfortable around and with numbers
  • Good business acumen (build plans, understand impact of decisions on Azelis business and financial performance).
  • Strong analytical mind. Can handle complexity and translate it in clear goals and objectives.
  • Leadership. Ability to lead by influence and achieve high quality results through others.
  • Sense of ownership and drive (problem solver, show bias for action, act promptly, remove roadblocks ,ensure accountability to get things done in a timely manner).
  • Build successful relationships across different cultures and in an international context.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent English speaking skills.
