ICF is seeking an experienced P rincipal Database Administrator to be part of an established team supporting cloud platform solutions and management to our federal client in Washington, DC…

The Team:The Tailored Platform Services Support (TPSS) team supports cloud platform systems that are critical to the success of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) mission. The TPSS program provides contractor support for both Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities and Development and Modernization (DM&E) efforts.

Position Responsibilities:
��� Work with clients, peers, and management in a highly visible, mission-critical environment
��� Assist with data migration from legacy Sybase database to ServiceNow platform
��� Build an ETL to migrate the legacy data into the new system
��� Work with the team to plan and execution a solution for converting existing stored procedures in the legacy database
��� Demonstrate ability to analyze resource bottlenecks and provide suggestions to the team, management, and internal customers on how to alleviate pressure and plan for capacity
��� Provide recommendations and strategies to application owners on how to improve the performance and scalability of their database components
��� Provide architectural guidance on strategies to improve operations and monitoring of current and future implementations
��� Ability to implement physical designs from logical designs
��� Prepare technical documentation such as a data migration plan and data management strategy

Required Skills:
��� A minimum of 8 years of work experience is required with at least 6 years of DBA or Data Architect experience
��� Two years must be hands-on development and at least two years must be a senior technical staff member (such as architect or principal/senior engineer).
��� End-to-end knowledge of MS SQL Server database technologies
��� Experience Planning, Installing and configuring a database platform
��� Experience Implementing High Availability and Disaster Recovery for each database (HADR) based on requirements for its workload
��� Experience maintaining and monitoring a database platform
��� Experience implementing performance tuning on the databases based on monitoring
��� Experience re-balancing workloads across database servers based on monitoring
��� Experience securing databases platforms and individual databases based on requirements and implementation
��� Possesses a thorough, all-level knowledge of complex, multi-modular IT systems design, development, and integration via various methodologies and technical approaches
��� Expertise in data management best practices and technology trends
��� Experience with compliance and vulnerability scan remediation
��� The ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RAC) to troubleshoot database issues
��� Proficiency with optimization techniques
��� Possesses Strong verbal and written communication skills as responsibilities include direct client interfacing and the development of documentation
��� Willing to have a basic background check (work is for the Federal Government)

��� US Citizenship Required; Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Skills (not required):
��� DBA experience supporting large modernization efforts using PaaS such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, Appian, etc.
��� Public Trust clearance or higher
��� Extensive experience in Sybase ASE & Replication server
��� Sybase database administration experience in ASE version 12.5,15.x,16.x, Sybase Replication server version 15.x & 16.x
��� Strong experience in Sybase installation, configuration, maintenance on Solaris and Linux platforms
��� Strong experience in cross-platform Sybase ASE & Replication Server migration
��� Experience in Sybase Warm standby, Ad Hoc, and MSA replication setup and support
��� Proficiency in database tuning, to ensure that applications run efficiently and reliably.
��� Experience administering a large enterprise database environment.
