Who We Are

IREX is a global development and education organization. We strive for a more just, prosperous, and inclusive world—where individuals reach their full potential, governments serve their people, and communities thrive. With a projected annual portfolio of more than $100 million and more than 600 staff worldwide, we work with partners in more than 100 countries in four areas essential to progress: cultivating leaders, empowering youth, strengthening institutions, and increasing access to quality education and information.

IREX seeks a qualified Program Officer to support a five-year USAID-funded project, Pre-Service Teacher Education in Jordan (PRESTIJ). Working with stakeholders including the Queen Rania Teacher Academy, PRESTIJ will support universities to improve pre-service teacher education, and assist the Government of Jordan to develop and implement teacher education reforms and address gender disparities in teaching.

Under the supervision of the University Partnership Manager, the Program Officer will be responsible for organizing and administering the program’s day to day technical activities such as university selection, provision of resources and technical assistance to universities, convenings of working groups, workshops, trainings, and events in close coordination with the technical team.

We are doers. Our decades of on-the-ground experience help us create greater impact, practical recommendations, and lasting partnerships.
