Scope of Job: The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for preparing customer invoices and ensuring PowerFlex receives timely payment for goods and services. The role reports to the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and submit invoices to customers
  • Ensure invoices have all appropriate documentation such as lien releases
  • Contact customers regarding past-due accounts and collections
  • Coordinate with internal business development, sales, and project management teams on past-due accounts and collections
  • Research and follow-up on customer payment discrepancies
  • Review contracts/purchase orders and assist in determining appropriate billing methods and procedures
  • Setup new contracts in the accounting system daily
  • Monitor AR email account for payments and post customer payments
  • Assist Accounting Manager with sales tax filings
  • Own accounts receivable aging list and review regularly with Accounting Manager
  • On a monthly basis, prepare AR reconciliation and investigate reconciling differences between AR sub-ledger General Ledger
  • Coordinate with third-party collection agencies if needed
  • Prepare and distribute customer account statements
  • Assist with gathering information or providing details for financial or other audits
  • Other tasks as assigned, may be an opportunity to cross-train with accounts payable

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable required, knowledge in general accounting is beneficial.
  • Experience in renewable energy or construction industry preferred
  • Familiarity with contracts/purchase orders and multiple types of billing methods (construction milestones, service/subscription, time and materials)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to interact with internal team members and customer professionally in verbal and written communication
  • Strong excel skills and able to adapt to customer or internal software platforms
  • Self-motivated with strong problem solving and analytical abilities
  • Active notary certification preferred but not required
