Power Plant I&C Maintenance Engineer

Essential Role: ��� Support and conduct power plant maintenance system accomplished mechanical maintenance on the plant, including preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of the instruments and control equipment installed on site, following manufacturing procedures and compliance with established standards, to ensure the proper functioning of the equipment. ��� Ensure proper operation of the control systems equipment and the plant instrumentation.��� Coordinate, supervise and participate in the maintenance, modification and installation of plant instrumentation in order to ensure accurate and reliable performance. ��� Perform testing, calibration, installation, repair, and inspection of Power plant instrumentation devices. ��� Identify or design new measuring and recording equipment for the plant as directed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: – Maintain and Operate the I&C equipment in a safe and risk-free manner according to the plant safety regulations and local rules. – Read, understand P&ID drawings, Interlocks, logic ladders, and Single Line Diagrams. – Confirm that equipment to be worked on is electrically safe and secure and provide documentation that lockout/ tagout (LOTO) is complete. – Inspect, test, adjust, and repair electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to indicate, record, and control power plant operation. – Calibration of flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, and other recording, indicating or controlling instruments to calculate accuracy, using test equipment according to the international standards. – Trace out and test electronic circuits and components to locate defective parts in analog and or digital protection systems using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals. – Remove defective instruments from systems, disassembly, and clean instruments, and replaces defective parts, using hand tools. – Reassemble instruments and replace instruments in system, using hand tools. – Lubricate instruments and replaces defective wiring and tubing. – Keep records of conducted calibrations, used parts and components. – Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems. – Undertake all similar or related duties as required by senior management, to implement or to propose the necessary training, to assure that the personnel under his responsibility have abilities and the necessary knowledge for the performance of their functions. – To preserve the integrity and security of the personnel, equipment, and facilities of the plant. – Assists in planning annual shutdown and major equipment turnarounds and carries out complete overhaul of rotating equipment. Reassembles and tests equipment in accordance with requirements or tests schedules. – Perform Continuous Improvement: Improve Reliability of Equipment/Process, Improve Safety, Improve Maintainability, Reduce Cost, Active participation in Major Development Projects – Maintain / Update the job completion records – Perform Technical investigations & Root Cause Analysis. – Request for external material, tools and services if needed. – Ensures system documentation, policies, procedures, local documentation, Management System Manual, Safety Manual, and other related documents. – Adhere to the Work Management of the plant processes / procedures. – To develop customized O&M procedures for specifics works as directed. – To perform other compatible and complementary works. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: ��� Electrical or Electronics Engineering university degree is essential. ��� At least two months of qualification training and successful completion of all qualification requirements for Plant Equipment Maintenance. ��� At least 3-4 years in instrumentation work in a power plant or similar work with exposure to all aspects of trouble shooting, fault finding, replacement and calibration of I&C devices and control systems. ��� Excellent safety awareness is required ��� Competent in the use of software (AutoCAD, MS, Office, P.L.C, Scada, DCS) ��� Strong understanding of Power Generation process, operation, and maintenance ��� Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot as per the OEM Operating manuals and instructions ��� Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills Desired Characteristics: ��� Strong oral and written communication skills. ��� Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. ��� Ability to influence others and lead teams. ��� Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. ��� Effective problem identification and solution skills. ��� Proven analytical and organizational ability. ��� Gas & Diesel Engine experience, preferably Wartsila manufactured��� WOIS experience.
