Position Summary

The APAC Established Products Squad (EPS) is a location-agnostic squad composed of members from affiliates throughout the APAC region. The EP squad is accountable for the management and performance of the dynamic EP portfolio of products in partnered affiliates.

As the Portfolio & Commercial Excellence Manager, you are accountable for the management of the dynamic EP portfolio & commercial tender and contract excellence.

Your responsibility is to the APAC enterprise and includes:

  • portfolio analysis and prioritisation
  • transitioning (affiliate > EPS) product GTM approach & resource requirements =
  • product readiness & transitions
  • best practice systems to drive excellence in access, tender and pricing activities

Principle Responsibilities:

As an EP Squad Member:

  • Together with other EP squad and network members, define short and mid-term EPS outcomes in alignment with EPS vision, long-term outcomes and Roche 2030 vision
  • Proactively contribute to the achievement of defined EPS outcomes and linked success metrics
  • Actively participate and contribute to the squad practice of self-management and self-authored learning to accelerate growth and foster high-performance culture.
  • Proactively share market and customer knowledge by adopting defined systems and forums for retention and dissemination
  • Partner mindfully with affiliates, ensuring efficiency and transparency, and never compromising their customer and business accountabilities (reputation, trust, licence to operate, etc)
  • Lead Work Packages through effective and transparent communication, scope management, technical expertise, critical thinking and problem-solving.

As the Portfolio & Commercial Excellence Manager:

  • Establish, implement & continual improvement of EPS portfolio planning and prioritisation
  • Collaborate and analyse product opportunities & requirements to maximise patient & business outcomes (incl. activities such as impactable sales analysis) to make informed portfolio prioritisation decisions
  • Co-create with EPS & affiliate stakeholders to define ultra-efficient GTM approaches and resourcing recommendations.
  • Co-create product readiness criteria and work with affiliates to establish EPS product readiness earlier
  • Develop, execute and continually improve the EPS product and affiliate transition model
  • Plan the transition of products and affiliates into the EPS and coordinate all activities as per the defined model to ensure business continuity.
  • Define and implement the EPS strategy for tender and contracts in collaboration with Alliance Management & affiliate teams
  • Build the systems (data, technology, insights, business process and capabilities) to support commercial tender and contract excellence
  • PPoC for Global Operational Pricing
  • Define streamlined ways of working to simplify pricing decisions & implementation.
  • Consult EPS and affiliate teams on pricing decisions and steward global product pricing strategies
  • Proactively simplify in affiliate pricing strategies eg. simplify bonus tiers & remove complex access mechanisms
  • Maintain pricing training & adhere to global and affiliate SOP’s.
  • Oversight and management of patient access programs/schemes (PAP/PSP)
  • Practice high standards of compliance with both external and internal policies and regulations, as well as participate and be involved in SHE initiatives within the Company.

Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications:

  • More than 8 years experience working in the Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Industry, ideally in or across multiple countries
  • A solid understanding of Asia Pacific access and tender/contract landscape
  • Strong analytical capability.
  • Experience in commercial roles (eg: marketing, finance) &/or access and pricing.
  • Experience negotiating complex and/or large value (>20Mn CHF) contracts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including verbal and written English
  • University Degree in science, public health or similar
  • MBA will be an added advantage.
