POLICY AND CAMPAIGNS ADVISOR

Salary: Up to £34,000 per annum, depending on experience + good range of benefits

Contract: Permanent: 36.5 hours per week (flexible)

Based: London: (UK-based remote considered)

Job Purpose

This is where you come in….this exciting role requires you to shape and support the development and production of research, policy and campaign material to be used by World Vision UK (WVUK) for government influencing, public campaigning and to support philanthropy on child rights and well-being. This is a crucial role that will underpin achievement of objectives of the Policy, Technical Support and Communications Team and you will be expected to keep abreast of current trends and campaigns in the sector to position WVUK as a thought leader on global child rights issues.

You will also be expected to be the main representative of WVUK in World Vision International (WVI) campaign channels (currently focused on ending violence against children) and shape the WVUK campaign in line with policy & fundraising objectives.

Requirements include:

  • Undergraduate degree with writing and/or research work (graduate degree or commensurate experience preferred)
  • Interest in international development (eradicating poverty, inequality and injustice).
  • Excellent written and research skills
  • Proven experience working on policy research, advocacy and/or campaigning.
  • Attention to detail, particularly in written material, and the ability to proof-read and edit written material well.
  • Proven experience coordinating different stakeholders to produce diverse outputs, including events, campaigning activities and/or working groups
  • Proven experience of working independently, managing competing deadlines and demands effectively.
