The Plant Boiler Intern will work directly under the supervision of Power Plant Lead Engineer, Power Plant Operators and Hospital Engineers on a variety of systems to further their knowledge in a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
Shadow Power Plant Boiler Operators and perform work by direction on the following systems and auxiliary equipment. Including but not limited to:
- Boilers/pumps/motors
- HVAC
- Plumbing
- Pneumatic Tube Systems
- Emergency Generators
- Building Automation Systems
- Fire Alarm System
- Blueprints/AutoCAD drawings
- Medical gas systems
- Patient care equipment
- Nurse call systems
Qualifications
Required
Education
- Current enrollment in Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical and or Boiler Operations school training program.
Experience
- Mechanical experience desired
License/Certification/Registration
- Special or higher Boiler license
Preferred
Education
- Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical and or Boiler Operations Technical school training
Experience
- Two (2) plus years mechanical experience desired
License/Certification/Registration
- 2 B MN State Boilers License
Additional Requirements (must be obtained or completed within a period of time): Currently enrolled in and meeting the requirements of a program that aligns with the job summary
