SENED is an independent non-governmental and non-profit organization established in 2013 and registered in Turkey with the number 27-15-175. SENED was established by a group of humanitarian and social activists in responding to the Syrians suffer since 2011. SENED has become specialized in working with and supporting people with special needs since 2015 due to the realization of the tremendous tragedy that people with special needs live in Syria through periodic visits to their places.

Job Responsibilities

Based in Adana, the “Physiotherapist” is under the line management Project Manager He/She will be responsible to:

  • plan and provide physical rehabilitation service to beneficiaries using the standard tools. Additionally, s/he will contribute to raise the community awareness about the disability and injuries topics.

Key Activities/Tasks/Duties

  • Assess beneficiaries using the standard tools to define their impairments, function status, mobility, and pain.
  • Set the needed intervention plan for each beneficiary using a variety of techniques including physiotherapy treatment and provision of mobility aids.
  • Provide physiotherapy exercises to individuals with physical impairments.
  • Do a close follow-up with every case until the treatment plan finished. And schedule in cooperation with the case manager the follow-up.
  • Evaluate the beneficiary’s response over time.
  • Provide mobility aids including assistive device and orthosis to the beneficiaries in need.
  • Develop under the supervision of the technical team the technical materials for awareness raising, and Conduct health awareness sessions to the community members.
  • Conduct trainings about physical rehabilitation basic topics (disability – impairments and injuries care – inclusion) to the Stakeholders/Key persons in the local community of refugees and other humanitarian aid workers.
  • Work closely with the other centre staff to ensure the team provide a comprehensive service to the beneficiaries.
  • Attend the regular technical meetings with the technical teams such as case discussion and quality program review.
  • Participate in open days and other events organized by the organization or other stakeholders in the intervention area.
  • Follow the documentation process of the physical rehabilitation services and other activities as it is outlined in the organization documentation process.
  • Other related tasks requested by the line manager.
  • Maintain highly organized technical assessment hard copy files and update the database on a regular basis, and cooperate with case management team
  • Contribute to project strategies and to programme development in health and protection sector

Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy, health, or related filed.
  • Minimum 2-year experience in providing physical rehabilitation services.
  • Experience in capacity building trainings on physical rehabilitation topics.
  • Strong understanding of the refugees needs.
  • Fluency in Arabic. Advanced in English.
  • Excellent use of MS Office products including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and strategic planning skills required, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, stressful environment;
  • Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills

Desirable

  • Intermediate skills in the Turkish language.
  • Verified experience in humanitarian work and principles.
