Position Summary
The Intern will be under the direct supervision of a licensed staff pharmacist. The scheduling will be done by the technician supervisor, department scheduler, or Pharmacy Director. The progression through intern program will be overseen by the intern coordinator, assigned designee, or the Pharmacy Director. The extent of work responsibility will depend on his/her prior experience in other fields of pharmacy and his/her individual capabilities in accordance with Washington State Law. This is a training position with additional tasks added based on completion of competencies and demonstration of proficiency in areas trained. Work situations are a variety of routine and non-routine duties and functions that require technical pharmaceutical skills, organization, and attention to detail. Internal contacts include pharmacy technicians, pharmacy residents, pharmacy interns, pharmacists, and pharmacy management team. External contacts may include providers, nursing staff, other healthcare providers, and patients.
Minimum Requirements
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Active enrollment in a College or School of Pharmacy required-OR- graduate of a foreign pharmacy school. Current intern license required.
