Your accounting expertise and skills will contribute to a successful daily operational management and month-end close activities for Gulf and Levant markets, with the ultimate goal of delivering an accurate and on-time close period. You will maintain and oversee the accounts and financial records of the company. You will be responsible for reviewing journals, ledgers, and other records of accounting transactions to ensure data accuracy and adherence to accounting policies and procedures. You will also partner with various business colleagues at different levels in the market and across GBS organization to assist on accounting matters including during audits.

Role Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day accounting activities for the Gulf and Levant markets and ensure performance to a high standard of operational excellence
Perform the month-end close activities that market is responsible for
Closely monitor and track the progress of close checklist activities and tasks, ensuring all deadlines are met
Ensure accounting transactions are compliant with Pfizer accounting policies, US GAAP and local tax regulations
Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Pfizer’s end-to-end (E2E) for accounting processes
Maintain complete and accurate tasks list and status of open items
Identify issues proactively and communicate to manager along with potential range of solutions
Monitor and coordinate close issue resolution with key stakeholders
Assist on internal and external audits such as corporate, statutory and tax audits
Serve as a point of contact for statutory audit related queries assigned to the market
Support in preparation of Financial Statements in line with Local GAAP conventions
Assist in local regulatory reporting and specific requirements of the assigned markets
Act as an initial point of escalation to resolve accounting questions from colleagues
Interact with GBS colleagues on best practices
Provide inputs as required on ad hoc requests related to accounting matters from different stakeholders
Support management in cultivating a strong GBS culture based on core Pfizer values, talent management and development

 

Qualifications

Must-Have

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 4+ years of relevant functional accounting or finance experience
Strong knowledge and experience of US GAAP and Statutory Accounting
Strong Analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems in an unstructured environment
Business acumen and professionalism with the ability to interface effectively with colleagues in all applicable Pfizer Finance and business functional areas
Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles

 

Nice-to-Have

SAP & HFM experience
Accounting experience with Multinationals and tax knowledge
Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical thinking, and organizational skills
Ability to mentor staff accountants
