Carrols Corporation, an established, publicly traded company based in Syracuse NY and the largest restaurant franchise in North America, has an exceptional and challenging opportunity in their Legal Department. They are currently recruiting for the ideal candidate to work in the role of Permits and Licensing Coordinator.

Summary

Oversee permitting and licensing for the Company and provide administrative/clerical support to the Legal Department staff as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain all business and operational permits for all restaurants including but not limited to health, food, dairy, fire, and use permits; ensure timely issuance of permits and renewals and compliance with municipal rules and regulations; maintain permit report and assist with inquiries from operations and municipalities regarding permits and permit processing.
  • Utilize workflow software to organize, record, process, track, update and maintain licenses and permits.
  • Manage invoices and prepare/submit check requests for licenses and permits other matters as needed.
  • Perform administrative/clerical duties as needed, such as scanning documents, drafting cover letters, opening and distributing mail, answering phones, scheduling meetings and providing phone coverage for main switchboard as directed.
  • Provide other administrative assistance in the Legal Department as needed, such as logging contracts into workflow software and in-take of contract submissions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • 2-year college degree desired.
  • Experience with permitting and/or a corporate legal department or law firm desired.
  • Understanding functions and structure of federal, state, and local licensing authorities desired.

Language Skills

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have strong customer service skills.
  • Must be able to perceive and react to the needs of other members of the organization.
  • Must be organized and have the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be flexible and able to get along well with colleagues.
  • Must be able to maintain a degree of confidentiality.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other related software.
  • Knowledge of workflow programs for processing documents.
