Performance and Delivery Lead

We are looking to recruit a Performance and Delivery Lead within the Elective Recovery Programme who will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the recovery of elective services following the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is a critical time to be joining the programme with the post holder being able to directly impact and support the recovery of elective services through working as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting directors and senior officials and various Boards across the health and social care system, including when necessary the Department of Health and Social Care across NHS England and central Government.

The post holder will be part a small team ensuring the programme is effectively and appropriately managed and able to deliver its main aims and ambitions. They will play a critical role ensuring quality and timely delivery of services to support the NHS in meeting its Elective Recovery ambitions. It will involve close working with colleagues across the NHS England partner programmes nationally, regional teams and where appropriate ICS teams, as well as national leadership and subject matter experts in performance, analysis and elective care.

This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the cutting edge of operational delivery and policy development across the NHS in a fast moving and highly political environment.

Elective Recovery Programme

The aim of the national Elective Recovery Programme is to support the restoration of elective activity following the Covid-19 pandemic.

This Will Be Achieved Through

  • Setting and delivering the national strategy for elective recovery through 2022-23 and planning through to 2024/25
  • Dedicated national elective oversight, with a focus on support to local health and care systems via the NHSEI regional teams.
  • Effective planning and commissioning based on analytical insight
  • Clinical and data-focused waiting list validation exercises – it is important that waiting lists are accurate to support clinicians so that patients are booked in priority order
  • Supporting the ongoing use of effective waiting list management

  • Intelligence-sharing with internal stakeholders to coordinate national-level support offers
