We’re looking for an experienced People & Culture professional to provides people and culture project and operational support to senior stakeholders and their teams across Save the Children Australia, assisting to ensure we have the capabilities we need to deliver better outcomes for children.

Where you come in:

In full-time, permanent appointment, based in our Head office in Carlton*, you will enable our Social Enterprises to meet their ambitious goals and support our corporate functions to provide quality services to their stakeholders. You’ll provide consulting advice, coaching and support to managers and employees in all aspects of human resource management, and work as part of a close-knit team, reporting to our Head of People and Culture, Corporate and Social Enterprises.

You will make an impact by:

  • Working with our people managers to develop team and individual capability through coaching, development, and performance management guidance,
  • Coordinating and facilitating talent management and succession planning across the relevant Business Units,
  • Being an advocate for employees, building strong relationships and visibility to support their development and career paths.
  • Work with senior managers to identify resource and capability requirements, and provide guidance on effective sourcing, recruitment, and selection
  • Provide day-to-day generalist human resources coaching, advice, and support to leaders and act as the first point of contact for generalist queries.

A talented Business Partner or Advisor, you ideally have exposure to the operations of a national organisation with a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. You have an uncanny ability to tailor your approach to ensure cultural appropriateness for the context, ensuring exceptional communication of messaging and strategy. You’re a skilled HR professional, with a deep understanding of industry Awards, EBAs, Fair Work legislation, and relevant related policy. More than anything, you’re driven to utilise your skills to achieve our organisational goals and protect children from all forms of harm.

This role requires

  • Demonstrated experience in a HR Business Partner or Advisor role, within a complex, geographically dispersed, environment,
  • An ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders, to drive change and embed new processes and practices,
  • Strong prioritisation skills, project management capability and a goal-orientated approach to work,
  • Experience coaching and developing line managers and staff using recognised frameworks and tools, and
  • Sound knowledge of workplace legislation and associated processes relating to employee management and industrial relations.
