Peacebuilding & Recovery Specialist

Tearfund is looking for a competent and experienced Peacebuilding and Recovery Specialist. The Peacebuilding & Recovery Specialist is responsible for providing technical advice on policy and programming issues to Tearfund in South Sudan country office in the following thematic areas: Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding; DRR; Rule of Law, Justice and Security in Conflict and Post-conflict Settings; and Post-crisis Governance

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Director the Peacebuilding & Recovery Specialist will be responsible for providing high quality technical assistance on post-conflict policy and programming issues to Tearfund in South Sudan, and for contributing to the development of Tearfund in South Sudan’s best practises and knowledge products to aid this recovery and peacebuilding work.

Do you have:

• Degree in one of the following, or related, fields: conflict resolution, development studies, political science or international relations. Or an advanced university degree or equivalent

• Experience in the fields of social development, reconstruction and development;

• Experience in the field of peacebuilding and post-conflict transformation.

• Experience in Conflict analysis, especially for issues relating to conflict prevention and resolution, reconstruction and development;

• Experience in liaising with the DRR structures for the potential support to the DDM activities;

• Experience in project design, implementation and evaluation/impact analysis;

• Establish effective working relations in a multicultural team environment **
