The Canada Payroll Associate will be responsible for the ongoing administration of the company’s payroll processes for Canada. Responsibilities include ensuring payroll inputs are submitted per schedule established with Elanco’s external payroll partner and adhering to all necessary statutory requirements and controls.

Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the Elanco Global Payroll Team, ensure Canada payroll processes are well documented.
  • Produce payroll related reporting documents, including, T2200’s.
  • Submit all payroll inputs to Elanco’s third-party payroll partner accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate payroll related employee data in Workday, Elanco’s HR system of record.
  • Make recommendations to improve system and process efficiency, participate in testing efforts for system updates.
  • Ensure issue related to Canada payroll are escalate to Elanco Global Payroll Team.
  • Work with Elanco’s third-party payroll provider to made payroll system process improvements.
  • Ensure third-party help desk support maintains accurate Canada payroll FAQs in order to accurately and timely respond to employee inquiries.
  • Other duties as required.

Basic Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Human Resources is required or Secondary Education with relevant years of experience.
  • At least 2 years experience managing payroll systems and procedures
  • A Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency with OSV Workday and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and v-lookups)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with a high level of attention to detail

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Working knowledge of cloud computing systems and payroll principles.
  • Experience with Quebec payroll.
  • Experience in HR process design and execution.
  • Strong expertise in reporting and analytics, including advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Heavy experience with payroll accounting.
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Additional Information:

This role allows a HYBRID working arrangements with a necessity to be at least 2 days a week in Mississauga Office.
