- Schedule: PRN – Varied Hours and Shifts
Under the immediate supervision of the Team Leader or Team Specialist or other designated management and the clinical leadership of a Registered Nurse, provides auxiliary patient care services to meet the personal and routine care needs of patients, and provides clerical services to meet the needs of the nursing unit.
Licensure:Must obtain and maintain:
- Notary within 30 days of hire **Postpartum only**
- BCLS within 60 days of hire
Experience:Prefer one year of unit secretary and/or nursing technician experience.
Education:Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Other
Demonstrates a basic understanding of the roles of a Unit Secretary and Nursing Technician in relationship with other medical services Team Members.
Requires a basic understanding of the related behaviors, needs, and comfort measures appropriate to the age (including pediatric, adlescent, adult, and geriatric) and diagnosis of the patient served in order to support the provision of an individualized multidisciplinary plan of care.

Telemetry – adult and geriatric
Labor and Delivery – pediatric, adolescent, adult
Mother/Baby – pediatric, adolescent, adult
NICU – pediatric
Observation – pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
Pre-admission Testing – pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
Surgery – pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
Post Anesthesia Care – pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
Pre-Surgery – pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric
Emergency – pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric
Demonstrates well developed interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact effectively with all internal and external customers.
