The opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Partnerships Manager role. Partnerships Managers are part of the AKF Partnerships team tasked with identifying and cultivating new funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals. 

Partnership Managers engage with European and Asian government, foundation, and corporate donors to mobilise resources AKF programmes as well nine other multi-sector profit and not-for-profit agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating across Asia and Africa. 

Partnership Managers are responsible for a portfolio of select grants implementing across AKF and AKDN themes and geographies in close collaboration with field units, global teams, and our partners.

Contract: Permanent, subject to a 6-month probationary period

Hours: Full time 35 hours per week

Salary: Circa Salary £40,000 – £45,000 + benefits, depending on experience

The candidate

We are seeking someone who has experience at a medium to large organisation or relevant international organisation, working in the sphere of international development and/or humanitarian relief.

The ideal candidate should bring relevant experience of securing resources through proposal development processes, engaging with donors, and managing a portfolio of complex often multi-country and/or multi sector development or humanitarian grants.

You will be a pro-active self-starter with maturity and emotional intelligence, with the ability to problem-solve, work independently and as part of a global team, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with numerous and competing deadlines.

You will bring creativity, critical thinking, and project management skills and the ability to provide stable, consistent, reliable, and courteous communication when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.

You will bring excellent writing, speaking and other communications skills, have a service focused orientation to others, and be a collaborative team player. You will be diplomatic, enjoy working in across a diverse, international team, and value inclusion, pluralism, and service.
