Solidar Suisse

Based in Gaziantep with frequent visits to Adıymana, Hatay and Mersin. Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension based on funding.

In the aftermath of two devastating earthquakes in Southeastern Turkey, humanitarian needs remain dire in affected areas. As a remedial support to the most vulnerable communities affected by the earthquake, Solidar Suisse has provided funding for projects implemented by local partners in Southeast Turkey and Northwest Syria. The projects aim to cover Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA), NFI and temporary shelter and rehabilitation needs in these districts.

Role overall Scope

The Partnership Finance Consultant will be responsible for effective periodical review of records for partners’ adherence to sub-grant agreement terms and conditions. Review and consolidate partners’ financial reports, fund requests and budget in a timely manner and up to a high standard.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

Ensure proper accounting, using the Banana accounting system, and financial management:

  • Assist in forecasting and budgeting for partnerships, ensuring funds are allocated appropriately and in line with organization and donor compliance,
  • Collaborate with the Program team to develop budgetary guidelines for partnership programs,
  • Monitor financial performance of implementing partners against set budgets, identify variances, and propose actions needed,
  • Prepare financial reports on partnership activities, including BFU (Budget Follow-up) monthly,
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, project future financial outcomes of partners’ and provide insights to Program team,
  • Collaborate with the Program team to develop and review partnership agreements and contracts, ensuring financial terms and conditions are clearly defined,
  • Monitor grant disbursements, track financial milestones of partners’, and ensure compliance with funding requirements,
  • Work closely with partner organizations, providing financial guidance and support to ensure alignment of financial activities with partnership objectives,
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial policies, guidelines, and legal regulations in partnership finance activities,
  • Provide necessary capacity building trainings for the partners in finance and budget management if needed,
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation, information, and explanations,
  • Liaise with the HQ Finance Department for forecasts, technical requirements, and periodic reporting etc.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. A relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.

Professional Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar position in a humanitarian context is required.

Professional Requirements

  • Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and analysis,
  • Previous experience in partnership management,
  • Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles, including proficiency in financial modeling and reporting,
  • Understanding of grants management, funding requirements, and compliance aspects,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail,
  • Proficiency in using financial software and MS Excel,
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Languages

  • Fluency in English and Turkish/Arabic is mandatory,
  • Fluency in Kurdish is a strong asset.
