JOB AND CONTRACT TYPE

Temporary, a 9-month fixed term from the third week of January 2023, full-time preferred, reasonable part-time considered.

LOCATION

The role is a remote-working position in the UK. Applicants should have the right to work in the UK.

 

DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE

The role is designed for a flexible individual passionate about research in the intersection of food systems policy, nutrition, and the reformulation of foods and who enjoys networking and meetings with multi-stakeholders in the sector. Although a vital part of the role is to deliver research, we will provide broader training on partnership, funding, and community development.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Creating an up-to-date landscape of innovation-driven actions, policies, programmes, technologies, and food ingredients, including startups and other multi- stakeholders on food reformulation.
  2. Supporting to deliver new models of funding projects and programmes in the reformulation space.
  3. Backing the partnership and funding area of the North-West region.
  4. Other duties as required

Supervision received

Reporting to Dr Paula Almiron, Partnership and Funding Manager of EIT Food North-West, the post holder will receive one-on-one support, advice, and mentoring on an ad hoc basis. Additional regular supervision meetings will also be held to discuss the portfolio of work, general issues arising in the performance of duties, and ongoing support and professional development requirements.

The post-holder will work collegiately with other EIT Food North-West team members.

This post is offered in a full-time fixed-term role. The company is open to reasonable part-time and flexible working arrangements that are not detrimental to performance in the role. Applicants should have the right to work in the UK.

  • Ability to take ownership of tasks, and to act independently, responding to shifting priorities
  • Ability to use IT systems & software appropriate to the role
  • Fluent in English
  • An understanding of the reformulation landscape
  • PhD or master’s degree in a relevant subject or discipline

Beneficial skills or attributes include:

  • Experience working in food systems, social enterprise, food reformulation, and healthy nutrition
  • Demonstrable presentation and writing skills
