Job Title: Outreach Worker – No Second Night Out Service – Multiple languages speaker

About the role…

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Worker to join our No Second Night Out Service in Bradford. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, working with No Recourse to Public funds European Rough Sleepers. This is a fixed term post for 12 months.

You will be based across our No Second Night Out service locations, as well as working on an Outreach basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct outreach activities to identify and engage with rough sleepers in Bradford.
• Provide immediate assistance and support to individuals at risk of spending a second night sleeping rough.
• Build relationships with local services and agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to homelessness prevention.
• Offer language-specific support to cater to the diverse needs of the community. Fluency in multiple languages is highly desirable.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to facilitate access to accommodation, healthcare, and other essential services.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.

Requirements:

• Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach in working with vulnerable individuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages, enhancing your ability to connect with a diverse range of people.
• Flexibility to work either 8am – 4pm or 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
• A valid driving license is desirable but not essential.

Desirable:

• Experience of working with destitute Europeans, assisting them to obtain settled status, if eligible
• OISC Registered or willing to work towards this
• Ability to speak a second language – (Eastern European. Polish, Czech, Slovak)
