Plan International Jordan was established in 2016 and has programmes throughout the country on education, youth empowerment, and protection (CP, GBV, SRHR) in (Amman, Karak, Jarash, and Azraq camp). Plan’s Global Gender Equality and Inclusion policy states that the core objectives of Plan International’s work are to achieve gender equality, promoting gender justice, realising girls’ rights and fostering an inclusive society. This commitment is reflected in our five-year country strategy, our Values and Behaviours Framework, and our Theory of Change.

We aim to:

  • confront and challenge discrimination and human rights violations based on gender. This includes gender-based violence and other forms of exclusion.
  • challenge stereotypes and unequal power relations between women, men, boys, and girls to promote gender equality, girls’ rights, and inclusion.
  • foster an organisational culture that embraces and exemplifies our commitment to gender equality, girls’ rights and inclusion, while supporting staff to adopt good practices, positive attitudes and the principles of gender equality and inclusion.

Position Accountabilities

The Outreach Volunteer will be responsible for:

Recruitment and outreach

1. Recruiting male caregivers according to the target group criteria and registering those who are wishing to participate.

2. Following up on the participants’ attendance, absenteeism and changed phone numbers in groups in according to Plan team’s notes and feedback

3. Maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the group and following up with the participants to encourage to participate in the sessions

4. Follow-up with regard to updating the personal information of the participants and providing it to the Plan team

5. Ensuring a well-organized and safe filing for the project’s files and data.

Registration:

1. data entry of the participants’ info on the project’s registration program (KOBO)

2. Coordination with the RHAS team on registration activities and ensuring the quality of the data

4. Taking the attendance and following up the absence for the sessions and filling in the attendance lists on the main form (according to the requirements of the project)

Key relationships

  • The post-holder will report to the Senior Project Manager. He/she will coordinate closely with the relevant staff.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
  • Awareness of child protection issues
  • Previous outreach experience.

Type of Role: Volunteering Opportunity, meal and transportation allowance is covered

Volunteering Duration: 3 months

Reports to: Senior Project Manager

Location: Amman
