International Association for Relief and Development (Onsur) is a non-governmental organization registered in Turkey N° (27-018-178) dealing with Relief and development projects through the empowerment of local communities to ensure a decent life, Founded at the beginning of 2012. ONSUR works through the main office in Gaziantep province Turkey, in addition to execution offices in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and Turkey.

Overall Responsibility:

Orphans and Child Welfare Assistant is responsible for the smooth and successful implementation of the One-to-One Program in Onsur in cooperation with the Orphans and Child Welfare Officer.

KEY ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support and assist the establishment of an orphan sponsorship program in line with Onsur policies and procedures.
  • Assist the department and start the sponsorship activities after consultation with Orphans and Child Welfare Assistant
  • Support Orphans and Child Welfare officers on the sustainable and manageable expansion of the orphans’ programs within the agreed regions.
  • Assist Orphans and Child Welfare officers in preparing all progress reports of the Orphan’s Welfare Program and share with partners as per the agreed process and deadlines.
  • Assist Orphans and Child Welfare to develop a plan for orphan home visits. Visiting the orphans in their homes in order to supervise any changes in their social life.
  • Responsible for uploading orphans’ bio-data online for sponsorship.
  • Prepare and Upload orphans’ progress reports online.
  • Assists the Orphans and Child Welfare officer in maintaining a computerized database of orphan’s related information.
  • Assists the Orphans and Child Welfare officer in sponsoring disbursing and other aid to the Orphans.
  • Assists the Orphans and Child Welfare officers in designing and implementing Program activities.
  • Writing Orphans Case Studies to support the marketing and fundraising for the Orphans Sponsorship Program.
  • Responsible to Maintain orphan files and documentation, with key documentation according to Onsur policies.
  • Performs any other duties as and when required by the management.

Education:

A degree in development studies /social sciences/psychology or relevant qualification is desirable. A business management degree is also desirable.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A commitment to Onsur’s Vision, Mission, and values is also essential.
  • Fluent written and spoken Arabic and English are required; working knowledge of Turkish is highly preferable.
  • Previous work experience, ideally with non-governmental organizations as well as in orphans/children activities, would be an advantage.
  • Ability to respond to a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Sound communication skills which deliver complex information persuasively and with clarity.
