Oracle Database Engineer (specialized in query optimization)

Technical Skills Required (must)

• Database Management Systems: Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with database management systems such Oracle and MS SQL Server
• Database Design and Development: Proficiency in database design principles, data modeling, and the ability to translate business requirements into efficient database structures.
• Query Optimization: Skill in optimizing database queries for better performance and understanding the importance of indexing, normalization, and denormalization.
• Programming Languages: Programming skills C# (Entity Framework) enabling interaction with Oracle database and integration into the target application.
• Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking: Proficient identifying and resolving database-related issues and possess a keen analytical mindset.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills are vital to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients.

Main Responsibilities

• Performance Optimization: Continuous monitoring the database performance to identify bottlenecks that could affect the application’s speed and responsiveness. The role implies fine-tune queries, indexing, partitioning and caching strategies (materialized views and others) to enhance system performance. Improve the performance of long running queries which create lots of parallel queries.
• Database Design, Configuration and Development: Collaborating with software developers and stakeholders to design the database schema and data models. They consider factors like data structure, relationships, and indexing to create a robust foundation for the application. Database parameter configuration is also required to be able to setup the DB for high performance expectations.
• Data Migration and Integration: Facilitate the transition from one infrastructure to another, as well as integrate data from multiple sources to facilitate smooth data migration and seamless integration.
