About the role

Under the supervision of our Operations Coordinator the Operations Assistant will support the team in Athens with daily operations. This role is part time, for 6+ months.

Responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Ensure proper financial, logistics and information management systems and control mechanisms are in place
  • Organize and maintain finances for the Athens office
  • Identify and fulfill operational needs (material, logistics, financial) on a weekly basis
  • Report to the Operations Coordinator on needs of the Athens office
  • Assist with other administrative and logistic needs that may arise

About Fenix

Fenix – Humanitarian Legal Aid is a US non-profit organization and Greek MKO, federally registered with Greece’s Ministry of Migration and Asylum.

Our multidisciplinary team of lawyers, protection officers, legal assistants, translators, psychologists and experts from different academic backgrounds, provides legal aid, protection and psychosocial services to refugees and asylum seekers on Lesvos, while advocating for a more just and equitable asylum system.

What we are looking for:

  • High command of spoken and written English and Greek. Arabic, Farsi/Dari and/or French is an asset
  • Previous experience in accounting is an asset
  • Excellent creative, communication, and organization skills
  • Passion for human rights
