Sightsavers is looking for two Operations and Planning Coordinators to help provide centralised project coordination and administration across the Policy and Programme Strategy (PS2) department.

Salary: £26,779 to £31,505

Location: UK remote – with occasional travel to Haywards Heath, when required

Contract: Permanent Contract

Hours: This is a full-time role with some flexibility around hours worked and some home working

About the role

We are looking for two Operations and Planning Coordinators to help us facilitate the successful implementation and oversight of Sightsavers’ programme and thematic strategies, all designed to make the world more inclusive. The PS2 Operations and Planning Coordinators will be responsible for operationalising PS2 owned processes and systems, coordinating the design of new projects, managing discrete strategic projects for the department, and providing coordination support to teams across the Policy and Programme Strategy department. You will join at an exciting time for Sightsavers, and these brilliantly varied roles will give you exposure to Institutional Funding, Evidence, Research and Innovation, Campaigns and Communications, Policy and Global Advocacy, Programme Strategy Development and Inclusive Data. Key duties will include:

  • Developing, maintaining and implementing key department-led systems and processes including the Project Design Process (PDP), the internal decision-making mechanism for strategic portfolio development
  • Coordinating the design of new projects and programmes and working groups that align with our thematic programme portfolio; eye health, refractive error, education, social inclusion, economic empowerment
  • Coordinating portfolio information management dashboards
  • Providing regular coordination and administration support to the different teams/functions within the PS2 department
  • Working proactively to develop strong relationships with teams and individuals

About you

This is an ideal opportunity to build upon your existing administration and project coordination experience in a supportive and delivery-focused team. To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrable administrative and project coordination experience in international development or a related field
  • Experience in managing stakeholders and working to multiple deadlines
  • Experience and knowledge of the general international development environment
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task
  • The ability to work confidently with data systems and maintain up to date records
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • To be able to travel for up to four weeks per year
