About the role:

The Operations and Compliance Lead at SyriaDev will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the operations of a long and extensive project. He will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the efforts of the finance, HR, information management, and logistics teams. His primary focus will be on ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and seamless coordination across all project functions.

Responsibilities

  1. Operational Management:
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the project, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Oversee the finance, HR, information management, and logistics teams, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align operational activities with project goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.

2. Compliance Oversight:

  • Ensure adherence to SyriaDev policies, procedures, in addition to the donor’s policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance to the regulations and laws of the Turkish Government.
  • Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance levels across finance, HR, information management, and logistics functions.
  • Address and resolve compliance issues promptly, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Keep abreast of changes in regulations and industry best practices to update and improve compliance measures.
  • Manage and lead the process of the external audit for the project.

3. Team Supervision:

  • Supervise and mentor the finance, HR, information management, and logistics teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set performance goals, and provide feedback to team members.

4. Coordination and Communication:

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between different project teams and departments.
  • Act as a liaison between project management and operational teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

5. Budget Oversight:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop, monitor, and manage project budgets.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and identify areas for cost optimization.

6. Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess operational risks, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
  • Implement risk management protocols and monitor their effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in project operations and compliance management, at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of finance, HR, information management, and logistics functions.
  • Excellent knowledge of compliance standards and regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English at an excellent level is essential.
  • Ability to travel to the North/West of Syria.
