SOSi is seeking an Operating Room Nurse to join a large medical support services program in Iraq in support of our U.S. Government customer. The Operating Room Nurse will facilitate providing professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery.

 

  • Provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery.
  • Promotes and restores patients’ health by completing the nursing process.
  • Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs.
  • Supervises assigned team members.
  • Reinforcing patient understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills.
  • Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards.
  • Measures health outcomes against patient care goals and standards.
  • Follows hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by State board of nursing, State Nurse Practice Act, and other governing agency regulations.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsProtects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Ensures operation of medical and administrative equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions.
  • Calls for repairs.
  • Maintains equipment inventories.
  • Evaluates new equipment and techniques and maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level.

 

  • Required and able to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT).
  • Bachelors’ degree in Nursing. 
  • Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Current unrestricted U.S. state license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Membership in the Nursing Specialty professional association is desirable.
  • Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least six months out of the past year.
