SOSi is seeking an Operating Room Nurse/Medical Surgical Nurse Lead to join a large medical support services program in Iraq supporting our U.S. Government customer. The Operating Room/Medical Surgical Nurse Lead will facilitate providing professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery.
Responsibilities
��� Provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgery
��� Prepares and maintains operating room for all surgical procedures
��� Circulates and scrubs for surgical procedures
��� Responds to surgical emergencies such as cardiac, pulmonary, or respiratory failure and hemorrhage
��� Provides health promotion and basic medical care to patients with various medical and surgical diagnoses
��� Monitors vital signs
��� Practices their specialty based on demand of their work settings
��� Promotes and Restores patient health by completing the nursing process
��� Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional… staffs
��� Provides physical and psychological support for patients, friends and families
��� Supervises assigned team members
��� Reinforces patient understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills and answering questions
��� Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards
��� Measures health outcomes against patient care goals and standards
��� Makes or recommends necessary adjustments
��� Follows hospital and nursing division���s philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing
��� State Nurse Practice Act, and other governing agency regulations
Qualifications
��� Required and able to obtain Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT)
��� Bachelors’ degree in Nursing
��� Current unrestricted U.S. state license as a Registered Nurse
��� Membership in the Nursing Specialty professional association is desirable
��� Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse is required
��� Maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
��� All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least six months out of the past year
Preferred Qualifications
��� Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required
Working Conditions
��� Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
��� Long Hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
��� Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse condition
