
Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority
Reporting to the Manager or designate, and within the context of a multi-disciplinary plan for the child and family, provides intervention in relation to occupational performance (self-care, productivity, and leisure). May provide work direction to Physical Medicine Assistants and other caregivers.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And Experience
- Graduation from a university program in Occupational Therapy.
- Minimum one year experience in pediatric occupational therapy, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current practicing registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
- Eligible for membership in the CAOT.
- Valid Class 5 Vehicle license.

- Demonstrated clinical competency in the field of occupational therapy.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to work with families, young people, and other professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to train and monitor assistants, family members, and other caregivers in carrying out services to the child.
- Demonstrated ability to organize time and responsibilities and to work independently.
- Demonstrated/referenced interpersonal and team skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of occupational therapy in family-centred approach to care.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
