Summary

Vascular Surgery has 3 full time surgeons. A scheduling coordinator position (1.0 FTE) is required to keep up with the current scheduling demands for office procedures, IR procedures and OR procedures. On average 25-35 procedures are scheduled per week. A scheduling coordinator is needed to ensure timely follow-up, scheduling necessary pre-surgical testing, obtaining prior authorization for procedures, and to ensure patient satisfaction with timely process.

Responsibilities

Must have ability to work independently

Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Coordinate procedure scheduling with surgeon schedules, OR schedules and office schedules

Accurately complete scheduling orders and collect necessary documentation

Clearly communicating instructions to patients.

Displays excellent Communication Skills

Accurately track completed procedures for billing reconciliation

Schedule patients for appropriate pre-operative testing

Obtaining pre-authorization for procedures.

Answer office phones

Juggle rescheduling procedures as necessary

Quickly respond to emergency schedule changes and add-ons

General understanding of coding

Assisting front desk staff with patient check-in and scheduling office appointments

Other Information

Must be dependable and able to work independently. Excellent communication skills required.
