- POSITION SUMMARY
- Functions as a temporary member of the health care team who provides patient care and uses this temporary position to learn and develop skills that will be utilized as a future Registered Nurse.
- Promotes the delivery of quality patient care through the implementation of the nursing process for all age groups cared for on the unit.
- Functions as a patient advocate, seeks to improve services, and performs duties in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Maintains an atmosphere which ensures that South Georgia Medical Center’s values, goals, policies & procedures are consistently supported and enforced.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Completion of junior year of approved RN School of Nursing,
- CPR certification
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patient/family units and staff members.
- Ability to work well individually and as a team member.
- Ability to adapt to new situations set priorities and use problem-solving techniques in a positive manner.
- Ability to read and interpret policies and standards of care as related to patient care issues.
- Ability to function under the supervision of an RN and in collaboration with other discipline’s team members.
- Ability to communicate clearly with, and care for a diverse population of patients/family units of all ages, a variety of cultures, and/or persons occasionally exhibiting stressed behavior.
