BUSINESS ANALYST
STRATEGIC PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE
NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re looking for someone who can find ways forward in the support of the College’s strategic initiatives, opersations, and projects as a Business Analyst in our Strategic Project Management Office. Business Analysts help translate business challenges and needs into imrovement initiatives through the gathering, analysis, understanding, implementation, and communication of business and organizational requirements, processes, controls, evolution, and methodologies.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Strategic Project Management Office, the Business Analyst works closely with program managers and project managers to ensure that assigned projects are researched, developed, implemented and delivered in accordance with the requirements of NorQuest’s strategic direction and performance standards. As the College leverages the capabilities and opportunities provided by its technology investments, the Business Analyst ensures that operational, strategic, and business requirements are gathered, understood and taken into account.
How You’ll Make a Difference
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
Develop a thorough knowledge of the business processes and needs of the organization.
Determining how changing business needs will affect the systems and processes. Provides ideas and recommendations regarding the evolution of the systems, including related methods and procedures.
Conduct research and analysis into the nature, effect, and results of system enhancements, changes, and problems.
Coordinate and perform related testing of system modifications / updates, including developing test scripts, procedures and testing documentation.
Develop an analysis and understanding of how changes will affect the people and processes.
Communicate system changes and issues at all levels within the organization.
Develop and coordinate system training, educational tools and materials.
Monitor and audit the use and the performance of the systems.
Execute system quality control practices and procedures.
What You Bring
Degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline. Equivalents and work experience will be considered.
3+ years’ in a business analysis role.
Certification from International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), Project Management Institute (PMP), PROSCI, or equivalents would be considered an asset.

SALARY $52,573 – 68,302 reflective of what you bring AKA your experiene and education. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefits programs.
