The Team: Events is an area of strategic importance to News UK. We currently deliver 200+ events per year delivering revenue to our business and significant value in terms of customer and client engagement.
Your Role: The Event Manager will play a pivotal part in delivering News UK events through creating & developing events that reflect our brands, rewards our customers and meet stakeholder & client objectives.
The role requires the event manager will be responsible for delivering News UK’s programme across virtual, hybrid and live events. This includes events you will lead on and some that you will support to other members of the team. The role will also include working closely with agencies and freelancers.
Day to day:
Lead and/or support event project teams.
Manage event budgets. Accurately cost and quote for projects, manage timelines and ensure efficient and timely invoicing.
Liaise with existing and new suppliers and venues, negotiating the best price in order to drive down cost.
Identify stakeholders needs and challenges, gaining mutual trust and respect.
Set KPI’s with all clients and work with colleagues to ensure all these are met and the clients & stakeholders are satisfied.
Work with teams across the business to market our events to the right audiences.
Create regular reports for activity, evaluation, ticket sales, member feedback and insight.
Contribute to the long term strategy by proactively coming up with ideas, concepts and ways to generate revenue through events, in-line with stakeholders’ objectives.
Support commercial event leads by responding to event briefs, pulling together concepts and budgets.
Manage the event delivery on sponsor events.
Support Head of Events with improving operational efficiencies.
Monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to inform and/or inspire the development of new events and experiences.
What we’re looking for from you:
An understanding of how events can bring brand values to life.
Proven track record in organising small, medium and large scale events, virtual, experiential and brand communications activity.
Basic knowledge and understanding of event streaming.
Track record of working with budgets.
Ability to deliver projects on-brand and brief within challenging timescales.
Understanding of marketing, audience engagement, customer experience and integrated marketing campaigns.
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure, working across many different projects at the same time whilst managing stakeholder relationships.
