Position Title: Network Support Advisor

Location: Abuja,Nigeria

This scope of work (SOW) sets forth the services to be provided by the Network Support Advisor to SAII Associates Ltd/Gte, an associate company of Chemonics International Inc. in the implementation of the USAID Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) in Nigeria.

Background: The purpose of the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program–Procurement and Supply Management single award IDIQ contract is to ensure uninterrupted supplies of health commodities to prevent suffering, save lives, and create a brighter future for families around the world. The IDIQ has four task orders that directly support the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), and USAID’s family planning and reproductive health program. GHSC-PSM provides health commodity procurement services and systems-strengthening technical assistance that address all elements of a comprehensive supply chain. All four task orders are implemented in Nigeria.

The Network Support Advisor will maintain the systems that allow the organization to function and communicate, both internally and externally, on a daily basis.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Network maintenance and ensure internal networks have the capacity to meet business demands.
  • Technical support for people using the network
  • Day-to-day administration and monitoring of network use
  • Planning future improvements, suggesting IT solutions to business problems
  • Making sure all IT deployments meet industry standards
  • Collaborating with the unit on the deployment and maintenance of network technologies.
  • Enhancing intranet performance.
  • Testing the exchange of data between computers, servers, modems, and routers.
  • Installing, configuring, and updating network software, as well as maintaining hardware and network devices.
  • Documenting network processes and layouts, as well as enhancing network security.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in network infrastructure and technologies.
  • Administering and ensuring project completion
  • Responsible for the IT equipment inventory on the project
  • Overseeing security of all systems
  • Perform other tasks as directed by Director IT
  • Maintain a good knowledge and understanding of all office rules and procedures as set forth in the field office policy manual.

Job Qualifications

  • Hands-on with Cisco, Ubiquiti network products
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working on a USAID or donor-funded project required
  • Fluency in English is required

Supervision

The Network Support Advisor will report to IT Director.

Working Conditions/Duration of Assignment

This is a long-term position for the life of the contract based in Abuja, Nigeria.
