Project purpose

Carry out activities pertaining to “BMZ II” Project under Disaster Management Services Responsible to implement over-all program based on the project concept and work plan in specific project Chapters and at regional level as agreed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Project management

  • Be responsible for the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Project in accordance with the administrative and financial policies of the PRC and GRC in specific project chapters.

Reports generation

  • Ensure that chapter project staff conduct their service and perform their duties in accordance with the standards laid down and expected by the PRC;
  • Ensure that the project staff based at specific project Chapters are properly implementing and reporting according to an agreed workplan;
  • Provide direction and support to the project team staff to allow them to carry out their tasks effectively and efficiently;
  • Under guidance from the NPC prepare quarterly, interim and final narrative and financial reports as required by the PRC NHQ and donor;

Program implementation and evaluation

  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all data or information collected by the project;
  • Perform as required or as delegated by the DMS Manager/NPC, and to ensure that the Project’s objectives and challenges are properly recorded, documented and reported and m accordance with donor requirements;
  • As guided by NPC, collects and maintains best practices and lessons learnt during the course of the project so as to enhance the value of the work undertaken;
  • Organizes and conducts trainings, orientations, and workshops at the Chapter and regional levels according to an agreed workplan;
  • Makes every effort to follow the visibility guidelines required by the donor organization;

Conceptualization of Staff Development Programs

  • Follow PRC and donor organization requirements in procurement and in all administrative, financial, personnel activities during the project;
  • Promotes and raises public awareness of, and compliance with, Republic Act No. 10121 “AN ACT STRENGTHENING THE PHILIPPINE DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, PROVIDING FOR THE NATIONAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK AND INSTITUTIONALIZING THE NATIONAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT PLAN, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES”.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Education degree: College graduate equivalent of four or five year’s course of any Bachelor
  • Experience required: Completed PRC disaster management or disaster risk reduction and management training;
  • At least two years experience in disaster risk reduction, organizing trainings, project management and reporting as well as preferable familiarity with advocacy and disaster management planning.
  • Familiar with working with local government units at community and municipal levels
  • Previous experience working with international donor-funded projects.
