Job position- National Project Manager Work location – Maiduguri (Roving)
Reporting to – Programme Manager Supervision of– Project Officers and Reception Center Supervisors

General purpose of the position

Under the supervision of the Programme Manager, s/he will provide professional technical advice on project design, planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the project activities, data analysis, progress reporting, and enhancing teamwork and capacity building in order to ensure provision of quality assistance to the beneficiaries and their communities.

Tasks and Main Responsibilities

· In coordination with the project manager, prepares, manages and regularly updates the project activities work plan, ensuring timely and quality implementation in compliance with the defined project strategy as well as INTERSOS and donor guidelines.

· Attends regular meetings with team leads/field staff to discuss programme progress, challenges and take corrective measures as required and develop action plans.

· Supervises, coaches and mentors’ supervisees, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.

· Contributes to drafting of project concept notes, proposals and drafts reports (including flash updates, weekly/bi-weekly, monthly and end of project reports).

· Supports assessment of risks in the areas of project implementation and support drafting of context specific CPP. Also, support security team in updating project sites security context and analysis.

· Supports building and maintaining productive working relationships with consortium partner leadership (Solidarities International) as well as other stakeholders in the project intervention locations in the field.

· Maintains open communication with PM and other internal colleagues including Head of Field Offices, logistics team, staff from sectors with a focus on problem solving, office strengthening and program integration.

· Supports the PM during the recruitment process, and participates in the induction/orientation of new staff members

· Collects and checks field financial documents (invoices, receipts, attendance sheets, etc) and forward to Maiduguri finance office to ensure timely processing and payment of vendors.

· Ensures regular performance appraisal and career management of staff under supervision.

· Contributes to the development of project procurement plans and gather needs of the project sites and channel them to Logistics in Maiduguri office.

· Coordinates with logistics department on procurements, ensuring INTERSOS and Donor requirements are met, and proper documentation is collected and maintained for all procurements.

· In collaboration with logistics, support movements of project staff to ensure there are enough vehicles available for all project activities.

· Provides support to MEAL team as they conduct assessments of community needs, by providing input into the assessment, arranging the logistics of the visit, and support analysis of the assessment results.

· Provides input in development of concept notes, proposals, intervention strategies and budgets taking in consideration community needs, cultural and environmental appropriateness, and feasibility.

· Consolidates submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly narrative reports on field interventions and submit to PM for review before submission to MEAL for internal & external reporting.

· Any other task assigned by the supervisor;

Professional requirements

· Minimum of B. Sc.in Project Management, Public Administration, Economics or related field from a recognized higher institution

· Minimum 3-5 years’ project management experience in multinational working environment

· Minimum 3-year experience with recognized INGO

Personal requirements

· Knowledge of Project Cycle Management

· Excellent networking skills, cultural sensitivity and adaptability

· Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments and physical hardships.

· Understands work from a process point of view and uses measurement and accountability systems effectively.

· Computer literacy (MS Excel, MS Word)

· Good organizational skills Ability and willingness to travel between across locations of implementation within LGA

· Good command of written and spoken English, Kanuri and/or Hausa Language
