Summary

All Survivors Project (ASP) is seeking a National Health and Humanitarian Advisor/Consultant in Colombia to provide advice and guidance on its research and advocacy on medical and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) responses to conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) against men, boys and/including people with diverse sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and/or sex characteristics (SOGIESC).

Working closely with the Senior Humanitarian Advisor, the National Consultant will help set out organisational country-level strategies, develop its programme on survivor-centred health responses to CRSV, lead on and/or significantly contribute to specific projects and activities, and lead ASP’s work with relevant inter-governmental organisations and national-level health/humanitarian stakeholders in Colombia.

About All Survivors Project

ASP’s mission is to support global efforts to eradicate CRSV and strengthen national and international responses to it through research and action on CRSV against men, boys and/including those with diverse SOGIESC.

ASP has a team of full-time and part-time staff members in the UK and Europe and since 2020 has been working in Colombia as one of its countries of focus.

About you

You will have proven knowledge and at least 10 years’ experience of working on health/humanitarian responses to sexual and gender-based violence in situations of armed conflict. Key experience and skills will include:

• Master’s degree in Public health/Sexual and Reproductive Health, Global Health or similar;

• In-depth understanding of health and other humanitarian responses in Colombia and extensive experience of working on sexual and gender-based violence in the country, with a proven track record in applying survivor-centred approaches to policy and programme design;

• In-depth understanding of gender and track record of applying a gender perspective to your work. Experience of working with male victims/survivors of CRSV and on LGBTI+-related issues desirable;

• Knowledge and experience of working with children affected by armed conflict, including child survivors of CRSV;

• Experience of influencing country-level policy and programme design, and detailed knowledge of key developments and debates in relation to survivor-centred responses for CRSV;

• Ability to think strategically and experience of strategy development;

• Experience of advocacy on issues relating to health responses to CRSV at national level;

• A strong track record of working with victims/survivors and of collaborating with other I/NGOs and civil society organisations, including to develop strategic partnerships in Colombia;

• Demonstrated analytical and drafting skills including excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish;

• Ability to self-manage and work under pressure;

• Ability to work in a flexible manner, including occasional early morning/out of hours work due to the geographical diversity of the team members.

Responsibilities will include:

· Working with ASP’s Senior Humanitarian Advisor and staff/consultants to develop and implement strategies on preventing and responding to CRSV against men, boys and/including people with diverse SOGIESC;

· Leading the development and implementation of strategies to strengthen access to survivor-centred, gender-competent, medical and MHPSS responses for male and/including LGBTI+ victims/survivors of CRSV;

· Conducting and delivering research and analysis on relevant policy and other issues as required,

· Identifying opportunities for influencing policy development and practice in relation to

medical/MHPSS responses to CRSV at the national level and undertaking advocacy, drafting reports, briefings and submissions, and media/social media;

· Developing and sustaining relationships with key national and international stakeholders and representing ASP at key events, meetings and with the media;

· Complying with all ASP policies and procedures;

· Other tasks as required.

Compensation

Recruitment process

Interviews will be held in Bogota on Thursday December 8th 2022, preferably in person. Interviews will be conducted in English and Spanish. A short technical test may be given to shortlisted applicants before interviews are conducted.
