World Vision Timor-Leste began its first project in Aileu municipality in 1995. In 1999, World Vision opened its national office in Dili. Today, we have three Area Programs implementing projects in four municipalities: Aileu, Baucau, Bobonaro and Covalima.

Our mission is ‘Healthy children for strong communities’. We recognise that children’s health is holistic in nature, including their physical, mental, intellectual and social wellbeing. We aim to empower Timorese children to transform their lives, in partnership with their families and communities.

Here’s where you come in:

As the National Director for World Vision Timor-Leste (WVTL), you will have the unique opportunity to drive programmes and influencing work, set overall direction for the office, lead and grow the team, and ensure accountability to communities and donors for meeting demanding targets and maintaining alignment with the global strategy.

You will be deeply comfortable with leading transformative change, relish the prospect of representing World Vision to the highest levels of government, civil society, the media and international media.

Requirements include:

  • Degree in international development, business administration, public health, social science, management or related discipline, preferably at Masters level.
  • 10 + years of experience in leadership with International NGO.
  • Country context experience and an excellent understanding of the political, social, religious and economic context in TL
  • Significant leadership experience particularly in securing grant funding in a variety of contexts.
  • Experience in running an office or organisation, including managing strategy, system, structure and organisational culture.
  • Experience in managing disasters, development and social accountability as well as programmes that influence policy design and implementation
