Nutrition International

Nutrition International is recruiting an individual National Advocacy Consultant for our Technical Assistance (TA) to National Nutrition Council (NNC) on advocacy toward Local Government Units (LGUs) financing for nutrition in the Philippines. This TA project will be piloted in Iloilo Province covering 3 municipalities/city. The Phase 1 of this TA project will be implemented from October 2024 to March 2025. Phase 2 will commence in April 2025 and will be implemented for at least a year or more.

The consultant will be required to take the lead or provide support in the following activities for Phase 1:

  1. Selection of 3 pilot municipalities/city in Iloilo Province
  2. Conduct of nutrition landscape analysis in 3 selected municipalities/cities
  3. Assessment of the implementation of previous Local Nutrition Action Plan (LNAP)
  4. Optimization analysis of the new LNAP
  5. Development of Cost of Inaction and Investment Scenario briefs for the Iloilo Province (and possibly for Region 6 depending on available data)
  6. Development of advocacy strategies for pilot municipalities/city

Interested applicants must have the following minimum qualifications:

Education:

  • Post-graduate qualification (Master of Science minimum) in Nutrition/ Public Health/ Global Health, Development Studies, Health Policy, Economics or Governance.

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.

Experience:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the nutrition relevant policies, strategies, plans, and programs as well as public health, nutrition, food system, national and sub-national level planning, and governance systems of the Philippines.
  • Experience in research and analysis of information for use in the development of advocacy strategies.
  • Experience in the implementation of advocacy strategies relevant to health and nutrition.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, PowerPoint)
