Summary

The Presencing Institute (PI) is seeking an outstanding individual to bring strong experience and skills in monitoring, evaluation, and organizational learning to develop and manage learning and accountability systems in support of several of our major global initiatives.
Role context
PI’s mission is ‘to catalyse conscious action for ecological, social, and spiritual regeneration.’ Through training programs and major partnerships and initiatives, PI brings the methods and tools of Theory U to support leaders and changemakers in transforming systems. In 2023 PI will be launching several major partnerships with multilateral organizations and NGOs working on the issues of land and landscape regeneration, education system reform, and achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
We are looking for an experienced M&E professional to bring strong monitoring, evaluation, and organizational learning skills to develop systems for capturing and reporting on the impacts of these programs, based on PI’s own monitoring and evaluation tool. The postholder will hold responsibility for developing monitoring and evaluation systems for each program, in collaboration with the relevant program directors, delivering on reporting requirements agreed with each partner, and supporting the wider PI team in considering how they might develop M&E systems in their programs.

The role will report to the SDG Leadership labs program Co-Director.

Job Description

The key functions of the MEL Coordinator are as follows.

M&E Planning

• Develope and coordinate M&E systems for 2-3 global initiatives, integrating PI’s existing M&E tool and adapting this to each initiative in collaboration with the relevant partners.
• Providing advice to other PI team members in developing their M&E Plans.
Monitoring and reporting
• Develop and coordinate workplans for the production and submission of the required monitoring and reporting documents for the duration of each program.
• Coordinate the submission of reports to meet client and partner deadlines.
• Draft reports in coordination with the relevant team members.
• Ensure that processes are in place to collect and analyse the data required.
• Ensure contractual compliance in submitting reports to donors, clients, and partners.
Evaluation And Learning
• Support the relevant Program Directors in:
o Ensuring the delivery of the Monitoring & Evaluation Plans.
o Developing and administering end of program surveys and interviews.
o Assisting in identifying and documenting lessons learnt; collecting information for case studies; writing and preparing success stories and facilitating periodic reviews.
• Work with program Faculty to capture learning from programs.
• Work with Communications team to produce materials that help share the learning internally and externally.

Project Management

• General support to the management & administration of the project as required.
• Recommend further improvements in ways of working.
• Support the team in providing accurate information and analysis for the development of new proposals.

Skills and Experience

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator will have the following skills, experience, and interests:

Essential

• University degree, or related study, in a relevant field
• Previous work experience in developing Monitoring & Evaluation systems and plans, ideally for large, multi-stakeholder processes.
• Ability to gather and bring together different strands of qualitative and quantitative information effectively.
• Strong administrative skills, and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with others – at all levels of the organization.
• Strong ICT skills – ability to set up basic databases, and use excel and other desktop and online platforms to produce management information.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
• Ability to write clearly and concisely for reports, internal and external correspondence.
• Fluency in written/spoken English.

Desirable

• A familiarity with PI’s mission and approach, and prior experience with Theory U.
• Fluency in French, Spanish, and/or Portuguese
• Experience in donor contracts management

Terms & Conditions

• This will be a full-time position with flexible working arrangements. Working hours to be agreed.
• Timing: the role may commence from October 2023 to October 2024 (Renewable). It is possible for the role to start part-time and increase to full-time.
• Location: the preferred location for this post is the US, Europe, or Africa, although other locations are negotiable.
• Virtual working arrangements: the PI team all work from their own offices/homes/public workspaces.
• Pay and benefits: PI offers competitive remuneration within the NGO/non-profit sector.
