At the completion of the contracted days, the consultant will have helped produce/execute the following:
-Inputs for the Flagship Reform Initiative
– Assisted in stakeholder consultations and preparation of summaries
– Prepared background papers and other materials for use for the Flagship Reform Initiative
– Assisted in drafting the final document of the Flagship Reform Initiative

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Support the Flagship Reform Initiative team in drafting documents, key messages and reporting notes in relation to the initiative and other tasks related to project delivery and management;
2. Support the Flagship Initiative Team to develop and implement the monitoring, evaluation, and learning approach of the initiative, in coordination with other parts of OCHA;
3. Support the Flagship Reform Initiative team in managing partnerships and stakeholders relating to the monitoring, evaluation, and learning of the initiative, including supporting the organization of learning events.
4. Performs any other related duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills

An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in evaluation, social science, research, international development or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with an additional two (2) years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

At least two years of relevant experience in evaluation, research and analysis is required.
Experience analysing and editing a wide range of products, including flagship publications, documents, reports, is required. Technical knowledge of evaluation methods, including relating to organizational change, is required. Experience with organizational design and reform projects, preferably with the UN Secretariat and or the UN system, is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
